Tina comes to the practice of healing support through many years of weaving her own learning, education, and exploration, receiving her first formal degree in 1984 in Psychology and Social Work, and graduating summa cum laude, and in the top 10 of her class.. She achieved her Masters of Science degree in 1986, and received a second degree in K-12 education in 1996 adding to her knowledge of educational issues such as the use of IEPs, 504 statuses, ADD/ADHD , etc as it plays out in the school arena. Tina has special training in Family Systems Therapy, DreamWork, Archetype work and symbology, Cognitive Therapies, and Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy/Intermodal Method.
She has worked in many areas and populations of mental health and non-profit, including extensive work with adolescents, domestic violence, PTSD, in psychiatric hospitals, and with the substance abuse population. She has been honored to work with many people from many cultures and faiths. The spirit of people and the work being done in the realm of healing never ceases to create a sense of awe and inspiration for her.
She has come to the work of Expressive Arts Therapy later in her career and has found a new joy in the work of healing and support both personally and with clients. Her passion for this work has multiplied. Her post graduate work in this field has lead her to an acceptance in a doctoral program, which will allow her to add to the growing research and evidence to the healing arts.
Tina creates a space of discovery, creation, reflection and safety. Being trained as a psychotherapist, substance abuse counselor, teacher, and expressive arts therapist makes her a skilled practitioner on many levels. She is an accessible therapist, who will support your objectives, inner healing, and exploration into the energy of your own being and possibilities.
Together , as a team, Tina and those that participate in these services will unfold and fold and weave a new way of being that will support a more joyful life. The perfection that we already are will be seen and met in time spent here.
